How To Get a Programmer/Designer/Coder to Listen and Work Quickly
<sex> Please can you help me change this navigation bar from square buttons to ones with rounded edges, and could you alter the sidebars to make more room for my Twitter Apps, and can you add metas to every single page on my website, even though it is probably pointless, but its only 125 pages, and can you alter the header just a bit… instead of orange, can you make it pink, and instead of swirlies can you add flowers? The “WTF.. You Are Weird” Look is Pretty Universal
I should not be allowed in public sometimes…really! Even when I say that out loud, people kinda give me that.. yip, so true lady nod.
On the outside, I look and come across as fairly normal. (or so I think). But underneath it all I am just a crazy, odd, silly girl. (yet highly intelligent and blonde.. and no.. that is not a contradiction in terms).
I think the reason is that my life kinda runs with chaos, so I am constantly multitasking, causing my brain to be torn in many different directions. Plus.. I have some other slightly weird obsessions (nothing *totally weird.. but combined again, a tad strange for some).
I love talking about blogging and social media, I love talking about my kid, I love talking about my crazy days in the 80’s, I love telling people funny stories about myself, I love to just ramble…and am prone to verbal dyslexia and “foot in mouth” syndrome. I combine ALL of these things at once and just ramble. And in there lies the problem, really.
One minute I am discussing my love for wordpress plugins… the next I am talking about how I used to have purple hair back in the day. Most people that know me, just sorta look at me with that universal WTF look on there face, and ignore me. BUT for those unfortunate few (haha) that don’t really know me.. some of this can come across as a shock I think.. or perhaps they are just amused with my crazy life and don’t know quite how to respond.
So, for all of those lovely people in the world that have yet to meet me… just a couple of words. Yip, I am a tad weird. Yip, it totally ok to laugh AT me or give me that wtf look. Yip, expect me to ramble at times, it can still be very entertaining. And, yip… add a few cocktails in me, and I DO get even weirder. “cheers”

So.. the other day I am talking to my sister and her hubby and I had a “moment”.
I often get “moments”… but this moment was one of those.. you remembered something funny from earlier in the day and you just now got around to laughing about it. Anyone else get those?? Anyone??? ya .. well… I am a little odd.
Anyways.. earlier, I was checking out shirts from Busted Tees.com (I think BT.. too lazy to double check at the mo.).. anyways they had 2 shirts I liked.. one that said “I google myself often” and the other that said “Rick Roll’d”… anyways they both totally made me laugh.
So.. I was trying to explain to my sister the t-shirts. Her first comment is.. yeah.. you DO google yourself often… “dork”… (yeah.. she still loves me.. I like being called a dork.. we are both blonde .. look a lot a like.. but obviously I got the brains :).. hehe!
Ok.. anyways.. second comment was; wtf is Rick Roll’d? For some reason I was dying laughing…like tears streaming down my face laughing trying to explain (it’s not complicated.. but it doesn’t do it justice to try and explain) even her husband was looking at me like wtf??
Seriously does knowing what being “rick roll’d” is, make you a dork…. I guess so!
Dork and all… I think it is brilliantly evil.. and so freggin’ funny… I mean who has yet to be Rick Roll’d?? Yip.. of course I sent it to both of them!!!

Twitter- My Substitute For Real World Co-Workers
I have a million and one things on my plate yet to work on and what have I been doing???
Adding friends on my twitter account!
Why? Really I haven’t clue.. perhaps it is just a weird need to feel like I am cool on twitter and have people following me.. who knows.
The one thing with twitter is that when I add people I almost always… or at least 99% of the time check out their blog or website, or at the very, very least visit their profile for something of interest. Obviously social media types of things interest me, but people interest me as well. It is kind of like Twitter is my substitute for real world co-workers. I can whiz by.. leave a comment and that’s it. I can spill my happenings of the day onto a few people.. most probably just skim it if that… and its gone. But for some reason it makes me feel better just getting it out. Like I AM in somewhat of a social world.. like I am not ALL alone in my office mumbling to myself. it is a bit of a social refuge. Weird.. perhaps.. but I am sure many other people feel this way as well.
The other thing I was noticing is that most of the people on twitter have a very nice blog, website, a business, foundation, or something of the like. They are utilizing twitter partially as a tool for their business and partially for the social vibe… I can understand.. it is a great source of traffic and a way to show people a more real side to who you are. IMO.. the more you know about someone, the easier it is to trust them.
However, I wonder how many people on twitter feel somewhat self conscious adding friends or perhaps feel as though they are a small fry in the pond there because they don’t have a huge site or blog nor do they know all that many people on twitter personally.
I will admit.. there are times when I read a post that is partial comment and partial question and I really, really want to respond because I think it is hilarious or what not… yet I sit on my hands because I am not “part of the circle”. There are many very well know and highly respected individuals on Twitter. And many of the guru’s in the industry have their own little groups of friends there… EVEN in Twitter there are clicks. Sad but true.
I do believe that one of the reasons some of these people utilize Twitter is to gain more fans, more readers, more customers, and have more interaction. It is like being able to instant message hundreds if not thousands of people and ask a question and within mere seconds get a reply. That in itself is awesome power for just about anyone!
But there are others I see just using it for straight business.. straight traffic tactics or spam and they come across as cold and even rude. They only respond to people in their circle and spew stupid comments. For that reason I believe in the end.. social media will kill them, and rightfully so.
Twitter is one of those really new and really interesting tools that has changed a large part of how we interact and I really see it as the only way the future will run… everything in an instant and a huge digital social world that anyone and everyone can take part in. I see many enjoying their time on Twitter.. perhaps a tad too much, but if the ends justify the means.. then tweet away and please stop by to say hello to me.. promise I will say hi back to all my new co-workers!
Quick Fix For Uploading Images in Wordpress 2.5
Wordpress came out with a new version… 2.5.1 that fixes a minor security issue (with spam) but uploading images inside wordpress still was not working for some, including me.
But I found an easy fix:

You just have to add a little code to your .htaccess page and it works like a charm.
It was an uber pain trying to figure this one out though…. thinking 2.5.2 is just around the corner. ha

The Monkey
He truly looks like the most innocent thing in the world doesn’t he?
Well… this sweet little boy is my monkey! He is my world… he is 36 inches of pure craziness, never listens, destroys electronic devices with just a look, eats a ton, loves to scare mommy with snails and worms and creepy things, causes havoc every time we eat out, tortures the pets, vvrooms around the house with his cars, has this weird obsession with the vacuum cleaner (yip.. he actually vacuums the floor!), plays with in/around/with water for a minimum of 2 hours a day, imitates me like there is no tomorrow, enjoys creating his milk and ketsup concoction, and loves to dance!
I wouldn’t trade him for anything… however I might loan him out for a day or two though ;)jk.
